 Rhassoul
and Kaolin are natural clay compounds that offer very
gentle, non-sudsing alternatives to soap and shampoo.
Rhassoul is mined only in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco,
and has been used for centuries throughout the Middle East
as a skin and hair cleanser. Kaolin is a white, iron-free
clay of extremely fine texture found in several locations
worldwide. Its name derives from the Chinese area Gaoling,
where its use was first documented. Kaolin has many
commercial applications, perhaps the least well known of
which relates to personal hygiene.
Mineral
Cleansers Function Differently
Soaps and
shampoos clean by reducing the surface tension of the water,
allowing water to rinse away dirt and oil particles more
easily. Rhassoul and Kaolin work in a different manner. When
combined with water, the tiny clay particles swell to form a
homogenous gel texture with an enormous absorption capacity.
The gel binds particulates and excessive oil, much as an ink
blotter, and rinses away readily with water. Washing with a
LOGONA mineral cleanser never removes too much of the oils
in your hair or skin, as aggressive soaps and shampoos often
do. Nor will these cleansers strip the protective acid
mantel layers of your skin, or irritate sebaceous glands.

LavaErde Rhassoul Powder Cleanser
LavaErde is a natural
clay compound mined in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
More commonly known as Rhassoul, LavaErde has been the
traditional skin and hair cleanser throughout North
Africa for many centuries. In the middle ages it was a
favored commodity of the caravan trade throughout the
entire Near East, and was generally included in bridal
dowries. Even today the royal family of Morocco
maintains a private mine for the court's own needs.
Soaps and shampoos clean by reducing the surface tension
of water, allowing the water to rinse away dirt and oil
particles more effectively. LavaErde cleans in a totally
different way. When combined with water, the tiny clay
particles of LavaErde swell to form a gel. Thanks to the
large interior surface area of the gel, and to the
electrical charges of the clay particles, the LavaErde
develops an enormous absorption capacity. It binds
particulates and excessive oils much as an ink blotter
works. Washing with LavaErde never completely removes
the oils in your hair and skin, as aggressive shampoos
or soaps often do. Nor will LavaErde strip the
protective layers of your skin and hair, or irritate
your skin's sebaceous glands.

LavaErde for various
hair types
LavaErde is an excellent
cleanser for all hair types. However, its unique
properties make it especially helpful for problem hair
conditions:
for dandruff and oily
hair:
Because LavaErde removes dandruff and oil very gently,
without irritating the scalp or removing excess oil,
problems with dandruff and oily hair can be gradually
reduced.
For sensitive and
irritable scalp:
LavaErde cleans in a completely non-irritating method,
and contains no active ingredients, surfactants, or
other aggressive ingredients.
For fine, fly-away
hair:
LavaErde provides hair increased volume, body and
luster.
LavaErde for sensitive
skin
Due to its extremely mild cleansing action, LavaErde is
especially suitable for sensitive skin. Complicated
formulas and strong active ingredients can overtax the
skin's self-corrective capabilities. Sensitive skin then
reacts with reddish blotches or other signs of
irritation. Cleansing with LavaErde does not disturb the
skin's acidic protective mantle or its many sebaceous
glands.
