Here are questions regarding how to apply foundation, concealer and face powder..  Enjoy!

FOUNDATION APPLICATIONS

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT COLOR FOR YOU?
Try at least 4 colors at a time along your jawline. The one that seems to disappear is the one you should be wearing. Try to do this in natural light too. Remember, I know its harder for us 'Natural Girls,' but don't forget that you can blend formulas or even colors to make the right shade. Just let us know that's what your planning to do, and we'll include a little pot for you to mix in.

I BOUGHT A COLOR THAT FIT ME PERFECTLY LAST YEAR, BUT NOW IT SEEMS LIGHTER FOR ME. WHAT HAPPENED?
Its important that woman re-evaluate their foundation shades regularly. The most common reasons for skin color changes are exposure to the sun. By wearing a facial sunscreen under your makeup, you can prevent this. We have an SPF8 and 15, and we have some skincare that contains a natural sunscreen as well. But lets not forget an obvious reason for getting a two-toned face, blending. Make sure you blend well!

WHICH FOUNDATION IS THE PUREST?
I get this question a lot. We wouldn't have these if we didn't think they were the purest on the market. I'm always looking for more though. But if you have allergies, make sure you look at the ingredients well. One may be allergic to mica, the other titanium. Somehow we can find the perfect color and brand for you. Don't forget that we also have powders that add color, and sometimes just a little concealer with it does the trick!

I NEED A FULL COVERAGE FOUNDATION. WHICH OFFERS THE MOST COVERAGE?
I'd say that the creams offer the most coverage. Real PurityŽ is more like a liquid. It may be perfect for you however. It takes trying it to decide. If the creams are to thick and the liquid is to thin, try blending a little of each.

I HAVE OILY SKIN. WHICH WOULD BE BEST FOR ME?
The only foundation we have that comes in a formula for combination/oily skin is the Logona matte formula's. I think the Real PurityŽ may also work for you, especially if you need to lighten or darken the shade.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON THE LOOK THAT BEST FITS YOUR EYES?
There are two things to consider as far as your eyes are concerned. One is their placement, and the other has to do with the eyelids themselves. Evaluate your eyes from both perspectives. Then decide which, if either, characteristic predominates. Certain eye makeup techniques will draw attention to the placement of your eyes, while others will minimize it. It all depends on how you want to look. The second thing you need to consider is your eyelid. Since that's where most of the color goes, it's really a question of how much or how little of your eyelid shows when your eyes are open. Prominent, or very noticeable, lids are the extreme on one end of the spectrum; hooded (or hidden) lids, on the other end.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO APPLY FOUNDATION?
You can use your fingers and dab the color over the face, then blending it well. You can also apply the color with a sponge. If using a sponge, make sure you rinse it well. Bacteria from the sponge can be a bad thing for all natural products. It can also encourage acne skin for those who suffer from skin problems.

IS FOUNDATION SUPPOSED TO BE APPLIED TO YOUR NECK?
No. This is totally unnecessary, not to mention expensive. In the past, it was a common practice however. Woman had no choices in foundation, and they had to make their neck blend in with their face. Not anymore. I think we have more choices in natural foundations then they had then!

HOW CAN I HIDE MY FRECKLES? IS FOUNDATION THE ANSWER?
To use foundation would mean that you'd have to choose a foundation that matched your freckles. I saw a woman desperately doing this and it was not a pretty site. Why not minimize their appearance by wearing a foundation color that matches your skin tone. You can apply translucent face powder with a sponge. It's also important to note that avoiding sun exposure helps. Many of my friends become unbelievably 'tan' due to freckles, from sitting in the sun or just walking about.

PRESSED POWDERS

LADIES WITH RED TONES
For many, covering problem areas have been just that, a problem. Earths Beauty is trying to meet the challenge. We'd like some feedback on this if possible. They've developed a corrective green face powder. Now a shade like this has been known to even out red tones, but is it enough in a powder? Ladies, experiment with this if you have problems with rosacea, broken capillaries and such. Just try one sample. Mix it with your concealer maybe, apply it alone or on top of your foundation. I do not have this problem and I'd like to see how this shade can be beneficial.

BEAUTY TIPS ON POWDER
The most important trick in using powder is knowing when to use it. Powder-based products should always be applied after you've finished applying your liquid or cream foundation makeup. In order, you should apply foundation, concealer, rouge (cream blush), then face powder. If your using a powder blush, you'd put the face powder on first, then apply the blush. This saves you from having to retouch your blusher ladies. Face powder sets everything. It gives you a smooth, matte finish. There are loose and pressed powders available. Loose powder is easier to apply, but for the 'Girl on the Run', you will probably want a pressed to run with you! Its easier to do the touch ups. Face powders that are translucent won't change the color of your complexion, but they aren't colorless. To choose a shade wisely, consider your foundation color. We recommend samples as it's your only way to know your getting the right shade. The best way to apply loose powder is with a big, fluffy brush. We have a wonderful hardwood handle brush that I absolutely love. Fluff the bristles on the back of your hand before dipping into the powder. Now dip the top into it and gently tap off the excess. Start in the middle of the face and work down in the same direction of your facial hair. Repeat this process on your forehead and then brush off the excess. An eyebrow brush is great for the brow area! You can also apply loose face powder with a sponge. That gives you a more porcelain-like finish. Its great for the T-Zone, or those with more than enough oil for themselves!! You'll want to press the sponge into the product, squeeze the sponge tight so the powder doesn't come off, then apply it to your face one section at a time. You can buff off the excess using a large powder brush. You'll follow the same guidelines in applying the product as mentioned before. During the day you'll probably want to carry a pressed powder. Make sure you blot your face to remove any surface oil, then apply the powder as needed. For those with contacts, always be careful to avoid the eye area. You don't want any particles ripping your contacts! I hope this was helpful to those who are just beginning to wear makeup again. Please give me some feedback to what you've read and how its helped you..

"I just recently purchased the Sante foundation from you and I LOVE
IT!!! For 14 years I haven't been able to wear any foundation. Everything that I have tried has gave me a raging rash. Even products such as Almay, Nutrogena, Clinique, you name it-none of them worked. So...by chance, one day I was searching on the web for more natural makeup without chemicals and came across your site. LUCKY ME!! I ordered samples and finally found something that didn't freak my skin out. Thanks!!" - Kriste C
